The Director of the Academic Affairs Directorate at the University of Ghana has stressed that first-class honors graduands will receive unique medals distinct from the general ones awarded to all graduands.
Speaking on Campus Exclusive on January 9, Mrs. Nyako-Danquah explained that, subject to successful procurement and financial arrangements, every graduand will be presented with medals and scroll cases to celebrate their achievement.
She emphasized that the medals for first-class honors graduands will be larger and brighter than the standard ones awarded to others.
“All things being equal, we will provide graduands with medals and beautiful scroll cases to preserve their certificates. However, for those graduating with first-class honors, they will receive a special medal that is larger and brighter than the standard one awarded to everyone.”
Mrs. Nyako-Danquah assured that while the procurement process is ongoing, the university is optimistic about meeting the deadlines. She also mentioned that alternative measures would be explored if any issues arise.
“We are optimistic about delivering the medals and scroll cases on time. While the process is still underway, we are committed to finding alternative solutions if necessary. With the time remaining, we are hopeful everything will be ready for the graduation.”
The 2025 congregation ceremonies are set to take place from February 11 to February 21, 2025, across two venues: the Great Hall of the University of Ghana and the Cedi Conference Center Auditorium. The events will encompass all colleges, with separate sessions for different programs.
