Latex Foam Ghana has donated GHC 20,000 to the Students Financial Aid Office at the University of Ghana.
The donation, which serves as part of the company’s social responsibility agenda for education and health, took place in the Pro Vice-Chancellor’s office on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
The donation was aimed at helping the Students Financial Aid Office widen its scope to support brilliant but needy students.
Speaking at the presentation, the Public Relations Officer of Latex Foam Ghana, Gifty Ekeocha Appiah, disclosed that the amount donated has increased compared to other years.
According to her, the donations for the past two years have increased due to the economic hardship in the country.
“Given economic dynamics, we decided to upgrade and two years in a row now, we have increased 100% and that is the figure you can see now,”she said.
Receiving the donation, the Pro Vice Chancellor of Academic and Students Affairs, Professor Gordon Awandare expressed gratitude and applauded the organization for its continued partnership with the Students Financial Aid office.
“This office has done a brilliant job and it is institutions such as yours which have helped for all this to be successful and help a 1000’s of students to come to the University of Ghana and majority of this could not have been able to come to the University of Ghana if not for the financial aid,” he said.
The donation was made by Public Relations Officer Gifty Ekeocha Appiah on behalf of the entire company.
Present at the short meeting was the Head of the Student Financial Aid office, Selina Torridon Saaka.
