Best known for his hit single “Tomorrow” and his album “Mic Check Version 2,” Zhion’s music resonates deeply with listeners, reflecting life lessons and everyday experiences.
In an exclusive interview on Radio Univers’ Campex Showbiz on 17th December, 2025, Zhion opened up about the personal tragedy that shaped his music journey and his unwavering faith that kept him going.
The Tragic Loss That Redefined His Journey
Based in Ghana, Zhion shared how the devastating loss of both his parents left a profound impact on him, creating a void that seemed insurmountable. Reflecting on that dark period, he said:
“When the whole tragedy happened, I couldn’t even write any song, you know? We are doing this because of our parents, and it felt like I was going nowhere. But God told me something…”
Grief initially broke him, robbing him of the motivation to pursue his passion. Yet, in the depths of sorrow, Zhion embarked on a spiritual journey that redefined his purpose in both life and music.
Moments of Grief and Reflection
During his period of mourning, Zhion turned inward, spending time in quiet reflection and prayer. He came to understand that his purpose extended far beyond personal achievement; it was to inspire and uplift others through his artistry.
A Divine Encounter
Zhion recounted a life-changing moment during a time in Lagos, where he sought clarity from God about his future in music.
“There was this time in my life when I was in Lagos, and I wanted to be sure if God was backing this whole thing. I went to Winners Chapel to pray and fast for 21 days, asking God if this music thing I was doing was worth it. During that hour of prayer, around 2 o’clock, I was sitting, and God gave me two scriptures—Joshua 6:27 and Isaiah 60:10. Right now, I am in a foreign land, so I knew this was the prophecy!”
This divine encounter reaffirmed Zhion’s faith, reigniting his passion and providing him with the strength to keep going. It marked a turning point, transforming his pain into a purposeful mission.
