Matchweek 3 of the Ghana Premier League produced tight encounters, late goals and standout defensive performances across the country.
Hearts of Oak edged Eleven Wonders 1–0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night. Enock Asubonteng’s well-taken first-half goal made the difference as the Phobians claimed a second consecutive 1–0 win to continue their steady climb up the table.
In Kpando, Heart of Lions maintained their perfect start to the campaign with a 1–0 win over Bechem United. Michael Ephson’s strike just before the hour mark was enough to secure all three points, leaving Lions top of the table with three wins from three, while Bechem remain without a victory.
Aduana Stars fought back to beat Swedru All Blacks 2–1 in Dormaa. The visitors struck first through Kweku Aduandze, but Aduana responded with determination as Emmanuel Marfo scored twice, including an 89th-minute winner, to seal the comeback and hand Aduana a second straight victory.
Nations FC were held to a goalless draw by Samartex at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Despite dominating possession and creating chances, the hosts could not break down a disciplined Samartex side, who have now drawn all three of their matches this season.

Vision FC bounced back from their heavy defeat to Medeama in style, beating Hohoe United 2–0 in Dawu. Goals from Nana Kusi Asante and Emmanuel Sanja in the second half lifted Vision to their first win of the campaign and restored belief after a difficult start.
Karela United stunned Medeama SC with a 1–0 victory at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale. Felix Mortu struck late to punish Medeama, who dominated large spells but failed to make their chances count, while Karela’s unbeaten start continued with a valuable three points.
Young Apostles beat Dreams FC 2–1 in a thrilling contest. The Apostles showed sharpness in attack to go ahead and managed their advantage well despite pressure from Dreams, who pulled one back to set up a tense finale. In the end, Young Apostles held firm to claim their first win of the season.
Three match weeks into the season, the passion is building, rivalries are heating up, and the league table is gradually taking shape.
As early form begins to emerge, teams will be looking to either maintain their momentum or recover lost ground in the weeks ahead.
