Nations Fc end Medeama SC 17-game unbeaten streak in Matchday 21 of the 25/26 GPL

The 25/26 Ghana Premier League title race exploded into life over the weekend as Matchday 21 delivered one of the most dramatic rounds of the season. From the fall of an unbeaten leader to heavy defeats for title hopefuls and late drama across the grounds, it was a weekend that reshaped the championship narrative.
What was expected to be a routine round for the frontrunners instead turned into a festival of upsets, tightening the standings and throwing the race wide open.

Nations FC end Medeama’s historic run

All eyes were on the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, where league leaders Medeama SC arrived with a daunting 17-match unbeaten streak. But Nations FC had other plans.
Driven by fearless pressing and ruthless efficiency, the hosts stunned the league leaders with a 2–1 victory. Captain Razak Simpson rose to the occasion, scoring both goals in a heroic display that shattered Medeama’s aura of invincibility.
Although Medeama remain top of the table, the defeat has injected fresh belief into the chasing pack and signaled that the title race is far from over.

In Kpando, Asante Kotoko suffered one of their most painful defeats of the campaign, going down 3–1 to a fired-up Heart of Lions.
The Porcupine Warriors, known for their defensive solidity, were undone by the Lions’ sharp counter-attacks and relentless energy. The loss meant Kotoko failed to take advantage of Medeama’s slip, leaving them adrift in the title chase and under growing pressure.

Elsewhere, the league delivered a blend of attacking fireworks and tense stalemates.
Young Apostles produced the most commanding performance of the weekend, cruising to a 3–0 victory over Eleven Wonders.

The result lifted the Apostles and deepened Wonders’ relegation troubles.
Fans were treated to a four-goal thriller as Vision FC and Dreams FC shared a 2–2 draw in a match full of end-to-end action and attacking flair.
In contrast, goals were hard to come by in two heavyweight clashes. Hearts of Oak were held to a 0–0 draw by Bechem United, while Aduana FC were also frustrated in a goalless stalemate with FC Samartex. For both sides, missed chances raised serious questions about their title credentials.

Home fortresses hold strong
Several teams protected their turf with vital victories.
Basake Holy Stars continued their resurgence with a convincing 2–0 win over Berekum Chelsea.
Bibiani Gold Stars edged Swedru All Blacks 1–0, a crucial result that pushed them into a three-way tie for second place.

In the relegation battle, Karela United claimed a narrow 1–0 win over Hohoe United, underlining the fine margins at the bottom.

The state of play
As the dust settles on Matchday 21, the Ghana Premier League table has taken on a thrilling new shape. Medeama SC still lead, but their cushion has shrunk dramatically.
Behind them, Bibiani Gold Stars, Aduana FC, and Hearts of Oak are all level on 36 points, setting up a fierce three-way battle for the top four and ensuring that every fixture now carries massive implications.
With momentum shifting and pressure mounting, the GPL title race has officially entered chaos mode — and the road to the crown promises even more drama.
