Chairman of UniMAC-IJ SRC Interim Committee, Bernard Afful Ansah.

Chair of the UniMAC-IJ’s  SRC interim committee, Bernard Afful Ansah, has criticized the previous SRC administration, headed by Fatimatu Ali, describing it as a disappointment that failed to meet expectations despite the historic election of the first female president.

In an interview on Campus Exclusive on May 2, Bernard Afful criticized the leadership of Fatimatu Ali, UniMAC-IJ’s first female SRC president, describing her administration as one plagued by mismanagement and unfulfilled promises.

“It was a happy moment for us to have the first-ever female SRC president. However, the beginning wasn’t like the ending, and there are a lot of allegations against their administration.”

Bernard also stated that he would not hesitate to take legal action against the former president or any past executives if they are found guilty of mismanaging student funds.

“Our constitution is subject to the Constitution of Ghana, so we will leave it to the law to deal with the case.”

In his commitment to improving student welfare, Bernard highlighted the poor conditions at the university’s old campus, citing inadequate infrastructure and neglect as key concerns.

“The washroom, honestly, is the biggest problem we face at the old campus, along with the limited number of desks.”

He furtherl assured students of a reformed SRC that is committed to addressing their concerns.

“The most important thing left for us to do is to correct the wrongs the past administration has done.”
