The Ashanti Regional Corporate Affairs Manager of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Emmanuel Tweneboah Kodua, has blamed persistent registration challenges on what he described as students’ lack of seriousness.

His comments come in the wake of widespread concerns from both prospective and current National Service Personnel (NSPs) regarding problems such as PIN code issues, late registrations, and complications with unaccredited institutions.

These issues have caused significant frustration among students attempting to complete the national service enrollment process.

Speaking earlier today on Campus Exclusive on Radio Univers, Kodua acknowledged the difficulties but assured the public that the NSS is actively working to address the challenges and improve the overall experience for personnel.

“Many of the issues we see stem from student attitudes. Despite clear instructions from our representatives about submitting data and visiting our offices to resolve issues, some prospective NSPs exhibit what we call the ‘Dunkerre syndrome’ they simply don’t follow through. Even those who do come often fail to submit accurate information,” he stated.

Kodua emphasised that while the NSS is committed to streamlining the registration process and addressing the current bottlenecks, students must also play their part by being more proactive and diligent during the registration period.
