With millions of views on TikTok, one would expect Leo Snow to be a full-time musician but the young artiste is still attending lectures.
The 21-year-old, born Leonard Amankwa Attah, is a second-year student of Information Systems at Ghana Telecom University and is currently the talk of TikTok with his viral drill anthem, Shake.
Speaking to Kvng Kelly on At The DJ’s Mercy on Radio Univers on 3rd May, 2025, Leo talked about how he seamlessly juggles music with schooling.
Leo started music professionally at the age of 17, and now, years later, he’s witnessing a breakthrough he never saw coming this fast.
“I had just dropped my debut EP when I asked my producer, (Noisy) for a particular beat type,” he recounted. “He sent me the Shake beat, and I knew right away it was a hit.”
Within two days, Leo Snow had fully written the song. He started teasing it through TikTok open verse challenges before dropping Shake video where he posed as a Coconut seller, which gathered over 500,000 views in less than 24 hours, a spark that ignited a viral blaze.
“After 2–3 open verse challenges, I just posted Shake, and the views just kept coming. That’s all I needed to confirm that I had something special.”
Leo also shared that his new success has brought unexpected benefits:
“I’ve received a lot of help from people both home and abroad in cash and in kind.”
He hints that a music video and a remix for Shake are both in the pipeline, featuring a UK artiste and a Ghanaian artiste yet to be officially named.
For Leo Snow, the balancing act of being a student and an artiste is demanding, but he remains determined to stay focused.
“I believe I’m ready for the blow,” he said confidently. “And when it comes, I’ll remain consistent.”
