Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has accused President John Dramani Mahama’s administration of using the National Education Forum as a tactic to undermine the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy.

Speaking to the media, Rev. Fordjour voiced concerns that the forum might serve as a pretext for the government to withdraw from its education-related campaign promises.

He argued that President Mahama had ample opportunity during his campaign to outline his education policies, making the forum seem redundant.

“I have repeatedly stated that this National Education Forum is merely a means for President John Mahama to weaken Free SHS. That is the main objective”

Rev. Fordjour stressed that the Free SHS policy has been instrumental in eliminating barriers to education for many Ghanaian students and cautioned against any attempts to reverse its progress.

Meanwhile, the government recently conducted a three-week stakeholder engagement to assess challenges in the education sector and propose necessary reforms.
