Old Student of UGBS tops ACCA’s AAA examination

A former student of the University of Ghana Business School, Nana Adwoa Oduraa Asomaning-Agyei, was named the overall top graduating student in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants’ (ACCA) Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA) examination in June 2022.

Out of the 8,313 competitors, she placed first in Ghana and seventh worldwide.
Nana Adwoa Oduraa Asomaning-Agyei is a Chartered Accountant and an affiliate of the ACCA with KPMG.

The Chartered Accountant was one of 110 prospective members who took the ACCA global examination in 2019 and passed with distinction in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Ms. Asomaning-Agyei graduated from the UGBS in 2021 with a First Class (Honors) degree in Accounting before she joined the ACCA.

In an interview at the ACCA Future Members Awards and Recognition 2022, the  former student of Wesley Girls’ High School expressed appreciation to God, her parents, and teachers.

I have been lucky to have been tutored by caring and lovely teachers, particularly Ansa Otu and Michael Amesimeku, formerly of the PRESEC Staff School, Madina, Accra, as well as Charlotte Korsah and Hector Kunkpeh, both of WEY GEY HEY.” She said.

Ms Asomaning-Agyei added, “I am also grateful to my parents, Emmanuel Agyei and Eva Maame Foriwaa Adu-Ntiamoah, for supporting my education and encouraging me to always be the best.

Irislyn Wilson, the president of the ACCA Ghana Network Panel, stated in a speech that was read on her behalf that the ACCA had trained many accounting professionals around the world for many years who had achieved significant progress in various fields.

A member of the ACCA Ghana Network Panel, Colonel Noble Carl Doe Dei-Alorse,  gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony and counseled chartered accountants to stay up to date with new digital trends and technology in order to stay relevant and provide services that are now in demand.

“If you are a chartered accountant and you have not mastered that space yet, then you need to fly, not walk nor run, because the world has left you behind,” he said.
