The Volta Region Students’ Association (VORSA) of the University of Ghana has held a handing-over ceremony, ushering a new set of executives into office.

The ceremony, held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the SRC Union Building, saw the swearing-in of Enoch Anani as president of the association, alongside other executives, to serve for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Speaking to Univers News regarding his administration’s goals, Mr. Anani stated that his immediate focus is on strengthening coordination within the executive body and anchoring his leadership on inclusivity, accountability, and purposeful engagement.

“My immediate priority is to ensure a smooth transition into office by strengthening coordination within the executive body and engaging our patrons and stakeholders early. We want to put the right structures in place from the onset. In terms of setting the tone, my leadership will be anchored on three pillars; inclusiveness, accountability, and purposeful engagement,” he stated.

Mr. Anani emphasised the need to ensure that members feel heard, represented, and proud to belong to the association.

“The Volta Region Students’ Association will not only be active socially but also intellectually and developmentally. We want our members to feel involved, heard, and proud to belong to this association,” he added.

Commending his predecessors, Mr Anani disclosed that his tenure will prioritise continuity and structured engagement. He noted that his leadership will focus on creating systems and platforms that promote dialogue, shared responsibility, and collective growth among members.

“I must put on record that every administration builds on the work of the previous one, and I appreciate the foundation laid by the Xorvi-Ziekpor administration. They have done a fantastic job, but they have not done it all. What will be different under my leadership is a stronger emphasis on structured engagement and continuity. My team and I are focusing on systems and platforms that can outlive a single administration. The goal is not just to organise events but to build a culture of dialogue, growth, and collective responsibility within the association,” he explained.

He added that he hopes his presidency will be remembered as one that connected students to ideas, opportunities, and one another.

“By the end of my tenure, I want students to feel that VORSA Legon genuinely added value to their four-year university experience in terms of their academic, social, and their personal lives. I want my presidency to be remembered for creating platforms that connect students to ideas, opportunities, and each other. One thing Voltarians are known for is being our brother’s keeper,” he added.
