Chief Executive Officer of Redsea Maritime and Organic Farmer, Raymond Snowden has encouraged young entrepreneurs to accept failure in their journey as entrepreneurs.
He was speaking at the mentorship night event organized by Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International in collaboration with the Akuafo Hall Junior Common Room on 1st April, 2023, at the Akuafo Hall Fountain. The event was dubbed “Preparing for a successful career: Making use of today’s opportunities”.
Raymond Snowden emphasized on the essence of failure in business as a tool for success.
He explained that failure enhances success and hence delay in failure leads to delay in success.
He added that being scared of failure is a reversal in progress.
“I will always urge my young entrepreneurs to learn to fail quickly enough. Do it quickly, and don’t delay the failure, the longer you prolong it, the longer you are prolonging your success. The more you fail, the better you get.”
Mr. Snowden also urged business starters to be decisive about the business they want to get involved in.
He advised starters to read about the business field of choice and to prepare adequately before starting the business.
He also added the need to conduct proper research and investigations before getting involved in their business of choice.
“If you want to get started in business you need to decide. Once you’ve decided on the business, read about the business. Don’t start your business without proper preparation, which requires you to research and investigate before getting involved in the business.”
Mr. Snowden also noted that personal value of an individual is highly-regarded in the world of business and hence encouraged business starters to put in efforts to increase their values as entrepreneurs.
He reiterated that growth is a necessity to improve as a business starter.
“In business, you don’t get paid for time. You get paid for the value you bring to the table. You can increase your value by becoming more. If you want to become successful in business, you need to grow, you need to become better.”
