Gov’t declares 4th August a public holiday

Government has declared Friday, August 4, 2023 a public holiday.

A statement authored by the Minister of Interior, Ambrose Dery indicates that the day will be marked as Founders’ Day.

The special day is dedicated to honoring the visionary leaders who played a pivotal role in Ghana’s journey to independence.

In his formal announcements, the Interior Minister, called upon all citizens to observe this holiday with deep respect and gratitude for the nation’s founders.

Founders’ Day holds profound historical significance, as it commemorates the courage and determination of Ghanaian heroes and heroines who tirelessly fought for their country’s liberation.

It is stated in the official statement that,

“The general public is hereby informed that Friday, 4th August 2023 which marks Founders’ Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.”
