Ghana’s Clerk of Parliament, Emmanuel Ahumah Djietror, is set to deliver the keynote address at the fifth biannual reunion of the University of Ghana Alumni Association, North America (UGAANA).
The three-day programme, taking place at various locations across Maryland, USA, began on Friday, September 19, 2025, with the Akwaaba Social Networking Night. The event brought alumni together to interact, create friendships, and share memories at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Gaithersburg.
Day 2 of the event, on September 20, 2025, featured two sessions. The first session, held from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Holiday Inn in Gaithersburg, included a congress and panel discussion with distinguished speakers such as Vice-Chancellor Professor Nana Aba Amfo, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Awandare, and economist Professor Blankson. The session, moderated by Dr. Ras Acolatse, concluded with UGAANA’s business meeting and the induction of a new executive team.
The second session will feature the keynote address by Emmanuel Ahumah Djietror, Clerk of Parliament, during the Fundraising Dinner Dance from 7 PM to 12 AM at Martin’s Crosswinds in Greenbelt. The evening will also include live music by the Forever Friends Band and DJ Fisho, with proceeds supporting UGAANA’s ongoing projects.
The final day (Day 3) will conclude on Sunday, September 21, 2025, with a lively cookout and raffle drawing for prizes, including a travel voucher worth $800, at Urbana District Park in Frederick.
The theme for this year’s reunion is “Cultivating Integrity: Ethical Education for Transformational Leadership.”
Founded in 2017, UGAANA is dedicated to fundraising for the University of Ghana and providing networking opportunities for its alumni.
