Reggae and Dancehall artiste, Sing Jay, who also doubles as a disc jokey (DJ), has laid out his opinion saying that the music industry in Ghana lacks proper structure. In an interview at the DJ’s Mercy show on Radio Univers, the “Everywhere” hit maker mentioned that the country “needs to have a school an office and a workshop“ for people interested in pursuing music.

In his own words, he described music as “a combination of people coming together to make something happen so we need to have that education”. He admonished the upcoming musician to educate themselves on the resources needed to produce good music, with the will to endure struggle in being successful in the music industry.

Speaking further, he admonished the youth to not only focus on education, but to give attention to their physical and spiritual upkeep as well. He went on to advise the upcoming musicians to be more focused on their goals by working hard to achieve them.

“Aside education and everything, you need to be physically fit and spiritually fit as well. You don’t have to go to certain places and eat certain [food items]. You just have to know what you want and where you wanna be,” he stated in the interview.
