The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), reigning champions of the maiden edition of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League, began their title defence in commanding fashion.
They secured a 2–0 victory over Lancaster Accra in Matchday One of the second edition on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the University of Ghana Stadium; where Ghana Premier League powerhouse Hearts of Oak play their home games.
From kickoff, GCAA imposed themselves on the game, pressing high and dictating the tempo with relentless attacking intent.
Their early dominance paid off in the first half when Gideon Kamasah broke through Lancaster’s defence to slot home the opener.
Moments later, Kofi Aboagye calmly converted from the penalty spot after GCAA were awarded a spot-kick, doubling the lead and giving the champions a comfortable 2–0 advantage heading into halftime. Their clinical finishing and fluid attacking coordination left Lancaster struggling to find answers.
In the second half, GCAA shifted tactics, tightening their defensive structure and controlling the pace of the game.
Their disciplined backline ensured Lancaster found no route back, as the defending champions calmly protected their advantage.
At the final whistle, GCAA secured a solid 2:0 victory, the perfect start to their title defence and a strong statement to the rest of the league. With such an assured performance in the opening games, GCAA have once again positioned themselves as serious contenders, sending a clear message across the competition, the champions are here, focused, and ready to dominate.
