Though you may think so, success isn’t just about what you achieve during the day; how you kick-start your mornings is also paramount to your performance.

Like most people, I rise and fall between levels of output. Everyone fluctuates between high and low, productivity and rest, clarity and confusion.

It’s not about never dipping into the lows — that’s natural. The goal is to maximize productivity while minimizing the impact of down points.

I may not be the most successful person who ever lived, but I’ve spent time studying the behavior of successful people. I know what works.

In this article, I’ll share the 5 top things successful people do every morning to launch into a productive day.

First, Wake up — Early!

Do you know who always wakes up at 7 am? Elon Musk. You might not like him, but there’s no denying that he’s one productive fellow.

Morning’s peace is for self-reflection, goal-setting, or simply soaking in the serenity of a new day.

Relishing your soft covers for an extra couple of hours might feel nice, but what’s the opportunity cost?

The cost is that you miss out on morning’s sweet serenity, you start the day on the back foot, and you don’t have time to fit in other elements proven to drive success.

‘Ditch the digital’

It’s too easy to succumb to the seductive call of smartphones and gadgets when you open your eyes. You know what I’m talking about.

According to statistics, 70% of Ghanaians check their phones within the first 10 minutes of waking up. The first 10 minutes!

Very alarming and it not surprising that the Ghana Psychological Association says headlines are hurting our health.

When you’re bogged down by news-related stress, you’re not going to be your most successful self.

 The gift of gratitude

On that note, let’s talk about something simple but profound: gratitude. It’s a daily gift you can give yourself. Before you get swept away by the day’s demands, take a moment to think about the things you’re grateful for.

Like meditation, the practice of gratitude is talked about to no end in pop culture. Hence always be grateful for whatever that comes your way.

Eat right

With all the nuance and controversy about nutrition floating around out there, one thing I certainly won’t do is tell you what to eat for breakfast.

But I will say this: it’s crucial to listen to your body. While some swear by a hearty breakfast with grains, protein, and fruits, others opt for a light, energy-packed smoothie.

Find what works for you and stick to it. The key here is to choose a morning meal that keeps you energized and mentally sharp.

Stretch out that tension

Who among us doesn’t roll out of bed a little stiff? It’s time to stretch it out. Spending a few minutes in the morning stretching your body massages tension away.

It’s like a gentle, self-administered therapy for your muscles. Who doesn’t want that?

Morning stretches alleviate cramps and stiffness, preparing you for the day ahead.

With all being said , it should be known that success is not an overnight feat, but it starts every morning.

While people are sometimes weird, wonderful, and unpredictable creatures, there are some habits that are linked tightly with success. You might want to check out these habits and potentially pick them up.
