The Co-Founder and Head of Communications and Marketing at Feathery Care, Elpidio Tossuo, has urged students of the University of Ghana (UG) to take full advantage of the numerous opportunities available on campus.
Speaking on Radio Univers’ Research and Innovation Agenda show, Mr Tossuo encouraged students to view their time at the University as an opportunity for both personal and professional growth. He advised them to engage with their lecturers not only as instructors but also as mentors who can provide valuable guidance.
He further emphasised the importance of utilising University resources such as the Careers and Counselling Centre and staying informed by regularly checking official University communication channels.
“So read your UG mails because UG has a lot of opportunities. Also, you need to speak to your lecturers. Lecturers are not just individuals who are here to teach you; they are here to advise you as well. They are there to help you build yourself both academically and for your future,” he said.
Mr Tossuo also encouraged the youth to begin their innovative journeys early, urging them to be proactive, research-driven, and solution-oriented. He reminded students that they are no longer competing only within Ghana but on a global stage.
“You’re not competing with a Ghanaian market anymore—you’re competing with somebody in Harvard University or in Mumbai, India, somewhere. So we need to pick up as youth, be more innovative, and try to solve problems rather than laxing our way,” he added.
