Matchweek 25 of the English Premier League delivered one of the most dramatic and defining weekends of the season, as the title race, the battle for Europe, and the relegation fight all produced major twists.

Arsenal continued their charge at the top with a dominant 3–0 win over Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium, where Martin Zubimendi broke the deadlock late in the first half before substitute Viktor Gyökeres struck twice after the break to secure all three points.

The Gunners now sit on 56 points and remain in control of the title race.

At Old Trafford, Manchester United produced a commanding display to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 2–0 in a game that turned on a first-half red card for Cristian Romero.

Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring from a well-worked corner routine before captain Bruno Fernandes sealed the win late on, giving United their first league victory over Spurs since 2022 and lifting them to fourth on 44 points as they chase a Champions League place.

Aston Villa were held to a 1–1 draw away to Bournemouth despite taking the lead through an impressive link-up between Jadon Sancho and Morgan Rogers.

The hosts responded strongly after the break through Brazilian youngster Rayan, while Emiliano Martínez produced a series of outstanding saves to ensure Villa left with a point, although they have now managed just one win in their last five league matches.

Chelsea closed the gap on the top four with a convincing 3–1 victory at Wolves, inspired by a sensational hat-trick from Cole Palmer.

Two first-half penalties and a composed finish from open play gave the Blues full control before Tolu Arokodare pulled one back for the hosts, leaving Chelsea fifth and just one point behind Manchester United.

Everton extended their impressive away run with a dramatic 2–1 comeback win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. After falling behind to a Vitaly Mykolenko own goal, the Toffees responded through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall before completing the turnaround when Bernd Leno inadvertently turned Dewsbury-Hall’s corner into his own net, lifting Everton into seventh place.

Crystal Palace ended their nine-game winless run in the league with a vital 1–0 victory over Brighton, thanks to a calm second-half finish from Ismaïla Sarr after being released by debutant Evann Guessand.

Brentford also made a statement win on the road, edging Newcastle 3–2 in a five-goal thriller, with Dango Ouattara striking late to complete a historic league double over the Magpies.

At the bottom end of the table, West Ham claimed a crucial 2–0 away win at Burnley through goals from Crysencio Summerville and Valentin Castellanos to boost their survival hopes, while Leeds United strengthened their position with a 3–1 victory over Nottingham Forest in a key relegation clash at Elland Road.

The weekend ended in a dramatic fashion at Anfield, where Manchester City staged a late comeback to beat Liverpool 2–1.

Dominik Szoboszlai’s stunning free-kick put the hosts ahead before Bernardo Silva equalised and Erling Haaland converted a stoppage-time penalty to seal the win.

A late Rayan Cherki goal was disallowed by VAR, and Szoboszlai was sent off in the chaotic closing moments, underlining the intensity of a round that may yet define the season.
