Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has cut the sod for the construction of a four-storey, 200-bed hostel for the Trinity Theological Seminary in Accra as a measure towards providing more accommodation facilities for members of the seminary.

The new hostel, which is being funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund), is a result of a promise made by Dr. Bawumia to the Seminary after help was sought during their congregation two years ago, which he attended.

The Vice President on his official Facebook page stated that the hostel will not only provide accommodation for students but would be an avenue to promote learning and growth among the students.

“As an institution that trains and instills godly values, the construction of this hostel will not only provide the much-needed accommodation for students, [but] it will also serve as a hub for more learning and growth.”

Dr Bawumia expressed gratitude in the involvement of key stakeholders in making the project launch possible, which included Trinity Theological Seminary’s management, the Minister for Education, the GETfund’s Board of Trustees and management and the Board and Management of GTEC.

“I thank all those who have contributed to making the commencement of the project possible, including the management of Trinity Theological Seminary, the Honorable Minister for Education, as well as the Board of Trustees and management of the GETfund and the Board and Management of GTEC.”

The hostel project, funded by the GETfund, will seek to accommodate 200 students upon completion to improve academic endeavours at the seminary.
