The Presidential Envoy in charge of Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations at the Jubilee House, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, has called on all church and religious leaders in the country to share any prophecies revealed to them about government appointees or any nationally significant messages with his office for deliberations before making them public.
The call comes in the wake of a tragic incident involving government officials and military personnel who perished after the helicopter they were travelling in crashed in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The accident claimed eight lives.
In a statement dated August 10 and signed by the Envoy on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Afriyie Ankrah thanked all religious and spiritual leaders for always keeping the country in their prayers and for the guidance they provide in their congregations to preserve peace, unity, and morality in Ghana.
According to Mr. Afriyie Ankrah, the latest directive from the Presidency is necessary to ensure the responsible handling of sensitive prophecies, especially those concerning the nation’s political authorities, national security, and public order.
The statement further urged church leaders and their congregations to intensify prayers for the President, the government, state institutions, bereaved families, and the entire nation.
“May the Good Lord comfort and soothe the pain of the afflicted, guide our national leaders, and continue to safeguard the collective security of our dear nation,” the statement read.
