Ghanaian artiste manager Ricky Nana Agyemang, popularly known as Bullet, has strongly condemned the detention of dancehall star Shatta Wale by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), describing the move as nothing more than a calculated “witch-hunt.”
Speaking to TV3 after visiting EOCO’s headquarters in Accra on Thursday, August 21, 2025, Bullet argued that Shatta Wale is being unfairly targeted despite building a legitimate empire from his craft.
“The arrest of Shatta Wale, I think it is more of a witch hunt. There’s more to it. It’s so grave that people cannot even understand. The system has been designed for musicians and celebrities to be poor, it’s from the top, to suppress us and all that,” he fumed.
Bullet emphasised that authorities appear unwilling to accept the success Shatta Wale has achieved through his career.
“They don’t understand that a musician has been able to make so much money. They don’t understand the fact that a musician has been able to buy a house in Trassaco, own Shaxi company, own estates and a whole lot,” he said.
He further warned against celebrating the arrest of the “On God” hitmaker, insisting that the development reflects a wider attempt to cripple the progress of Ghanaian entertainers.
“The system wants to tell us that you can never make it, and you can’t make it. So nobody should be happy that Shatta Wale has been arrested,” Bullet stressed.
EOCO has finally granted Shatta Wale bail after a revised bail amount of Ghs 5 million concerning his Yellow Lamborghini Urus, which authorities claim is linked to financial crimes in the United States.
