American Athlete, Noah Lyles breezed to a comfortable victory in the men’s 200m final to complete a sprint double at the 2023 World Athletics Championship in Budapest.
The sprinter kept to his word after his historic triumph in the 100m final posting a sizzling 19.51s in the 200m to be crowned King of Budapest.
Country man Erriyon Knighton finished second with a decent 19.75s, before African and Botswana wonderboy, Letslie Tebogo completed the podium with a cool 19.81s; Africa’s first since Frankie Fredericks made the Podium. Tebogo wins Africa’s second medal at the Championships after many struggles and disappointments.
United Kingdom’s Zhanel Huges who has had a good season altogether missed out on medal zone, finishing fourth. 2020 Olympic champion, Andre de Grasse slapped in on fifth with America’s Bednarek finishing behind De Grasse.
