Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has stated that the issues plaguing the Black Stars team go beyond the coaches, implying that the problems are more deep-seated and complex.

In an interview with Universports, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu expressed his opinion that the decline of Ghana football is attributed to multiple factors, and it’s unfair to solely blame the coaches. He suggests that other elements are contributing to the problem, and a more comprehensive approach is needed to address the issues.

“Within the past five years, Ghana has brought in five coaches and what impact did they make. We have to stop this quick fix mentality as soon as possible and focus keenly on how to improve the national team” the ex Asante midfielder stated.

He also discussed the state of our local league and the progress of youth development in Ghanaian football over the years, highlighting how these systems have contributed to the success of the Black Stars in the past.

In the past our youth teams and local clubs had a huge impact how well our national teams performed. We have to sit down and look at the problems one by one and fix them” he noted

The 2012 pukas nominee ended by admonishing Ghanaians to stay calm and come together to ensure the growth of Ghana football. Coach Otto Addo’s side will have their national assignment in March 2025 against Chad and Madagascar.
