The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unveiled Nurudeen Amadu as the head coach of the newly formed male U-18 national team in line with its developmental agenda.

Amadu, who currently coaches Ghana Premier League leaders FC Samartex 1996, previously served as an assistant coach for the Ghana U-17 team under Paa Kwesi Fabin in 2014.

He has also been handed coaching jobs in Ghanaian clubs like Aduana Football Club and King Faisal Babies FC.

Amadu will be assisted by Hamza Mohammed Obeng, head coach of Vision FC, and James Nanor, a former national team and Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper

Obeng, previously worked with Samuel Boadu during their successful tenure at Accra Hearts of Oak in 2021.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has also named Yaw Preko as the head coach of the national U-15 boys team. Preko brings on board an elite mentality, as he was an integral member of Ghana’s team that won a bronze medal at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

He will be ably supported by Awudu Issaka, a former U-17 World Cup Winner, and Mubarak Gado.

This initiative forms part of the GFA’s strategy to nurture young talents for future national team representation.
