Ghanaian football club, Bofoakwa Tano have mutually agreed with now-former head coach, Stephen Frimpong Maanso to bring his tenure at the Sunyani Based side to an abrupt end.

In a week of dismals and ‘leaves’, Frimpong Maanso is the latest manager to be shown the exit after Hearts of Oak parted ways with Martinus Koopman, before Bibiani’s Michael Osei was given ‘a short leave’.

The departure of Frimpong Maanso comes after his side were engaged in a fierce brawl in the aftermath of the Bono Derby, where Nsoatreman head coach, Maxwell Konadu was a casualty of the predicament.

Maanso guided Tano Bofoakwa into Ghana’s top flight after 16 years in the lower tiers. He played an integral role in the side’s first month in the BetPawa premier league and was duly rewarded for his efforts as he clinched the NASCO Ghana coach of the month accolade for September.

Maanso’s now vacant coaching role leaves a lot to be desired with the coach’s outstanding performance at the Sunyani-based side inadequate to keep him in the job. Despite Maanso’s stack of 3 wins, 7 draws and 1 loss in his first 11 outings, he has been relieved of his duties.

Maanso’s blue print on the side was quite glaring before his dismissal, with the coach guiding the side to a 6th place position on the league standings after 11 match days.

Although the hunters remain 5 points adrift the league summit, having only faulted against current league leaders Aduana Stars, the management of the club have stated that Maanso must vacate the role as head coach of the club with immediate effect, together with his assistant Isaac Kofi Sarfo.

Below is the official club statement.

Tano who have been making the headlines for the wrong reasons will hope to find a bit of joy in a chaotic week when they travel to face Dreams Fc in their next outing.
