The Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Administration, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, has encouraged young people to use technology wisely to prepare for future jobs.
She made these remarks at the Leadership, Technology, and Innovation Summit, held at the SRC Union Building, University of Ghana. The summit, organised by the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG), aimed to empower youth to thrive in the fields of technology, innovation, and collaboration.
She urged young people to use social media for learning and career growth, warning that ignorance in the digital age is costly and the internet never forgets.
“You want to answer questions? Google it. YouTube is now a university without a gown; you can take free courses, be careful what you put out there, even in the shadows of cyberspace, somebody is watching, so be ethical, be kind and be smart,” she stated.
She further advised young people to be mindful of their online activities, noting that some embassies and employers now request applicants’ social media handles during job and visa applications.
