Ghana’s national team coach, Otto Addo, has announced that Mohammed Kudus will captain the Black Stars in their upcoming games against Sudan, starting with the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday at 16:00GMT.
Kudus, who has scored 11 goals in 36 appearances since his debut in 2019, will lead the team in the absence of regular captain Thomas Partey, who is out due to a medical issue, and second deputy captain Richard Ofori, who has not played for the team since AFCON 2023.
Despite Jordan Ayew’s seniority, Kudus will take on the captaincy role as the Black Stars seek a crucial win after a disappointing start to their AFCON qualifying campaign.
