The third edition of the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship Final will be held in Ghana at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra. The event is being organised under the theme “Encourage, Educate, and Engage.” It was first introduced by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe in April 2022 in Maputo, Mozambique. The main goal is to support and grow football in schools and help young people develop through the sport across Africa.

Host nation Ghana will compete against other qualified teams such as Uganda, South Africa, The Gambia, Morocco, DR Congo, Malawi, and Algeria in both the Boys’ and Girls’ editions for the ultimate prize.

The tournament draw took place on Monday, April 21, with Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan and Clémentine Touré of Côte d’Ivoire playing key roles in the event. In the Girls’ competition, host country Ghana was placed in Group A, along with strong teams from Morocco, Benin, and Malawi.

In Group B, 2024 champions South Africa will battle against Uganda—who finished third in the 2024 edition—debutants DR Congo, and The Gambia.

For the Boys’ edition, the Ghana U-15 Boys’ team will be making their first appearance at the African Schools Football Championship in Group A, alongside Algeria, South Africa, and Uganda.

Defending champions Tanzania will face a tough challenge in Group B as they go up against Senegal, DR Congo, and debutants Côte d’Ivoire.

The event is scheduled to take place from April 23 to 26, 2025.
