Kenya were able to get a consolation goal, but despite the pressure they mounted, the Black Challenge were able to defend their goals successfully till the last blast of the whistle.

Ghana, who have won the previous two editions of the tournament, aim to become the first nation in the history of the competition to win three successive crowns but have to battle against Tanzania in the quarter-final stage of the tournament on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Elsewhere, Nigeria beat Burundi 11-0, Morocco beat Liberia 5-0, Angola beat Tanzania 2-1, and Algeria beat Gambia 3-2.

Below are the full fixtures of the quarter-final matches and the road to the finals of the 2024 AAFCON Tournament.

The two-time AAFCON winners would be hoping to leverage on the perfect group stage performances as a morale booster in their quest to defend the coveted trophy, and become the first nation to achieve an AAFCON three-peat and qualify for the 2026 World Cup, counting on the experience of veteran players in the side to attain those feats.
