In a press release issued on Tuesday May 16, 2023, the commission expressed its gratitude to the central committee members for approving their nomination in accordance with Article 19 (b) of the NUGS constitution.

The commission emphasized its commitment to upholding and strengthening the democratic values within the union through a well-organized and transparent election process.

According to the Electoral Commission, the nomination period will begin on May 17, 2023, at 8:00 am and will close on June 7, 2023, precisely at 11:59 pm.

Aspiring candidates can obtain nomination forms through an online link that will be shared by the commission.

These forms must be printed and manually submitted to the Electoral Commission at the National Secretariat of the Union.

To provide detailed information and guidelines for the election process, the commission will attach the Constitutional Instrument (C.I.) for this year’s election to the nomination forms.

All prospective candidates are required to comply with both the Constitutional Instruments (C.Is) and the constitutional provisions to avoid disqualification.

Any violation of these regulations may result in the disqualification of a candidate. Aspiring candidates are encouraged to submit their completed forms promptly after filling in the necessary details, with a deadline of 11:59 pm on June 7, 2023.

The pricing for the nomination forms for the 2023 NUGS election has been approved by the central committee as follows:

  • Position: President
    • Price: GHC 3,500
  • All Other Positions
    • Price: GHC 2,500

It’s important to note that the fees for the nomination forms include the capitation fee for Congress for all aspirants.

The payment must be made into the NUGS ACCOUNT, the details of which will be provided in the nomination forms.
