In the hunt for a new head coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, Former Real Sociedad and Black Stars midfielder Yaw Acheampong has backed Chris Hughton for the appointment. The Former Eleven Wonders gaffer says he believes with all the necessary support coupled with his experience on the terrain, Chris Hughton will deliver the goods for Ghana if appointed.

I think he’s well experienced and he knows the field and terrain very well. So I believe giving him the chance with the support, again without the support one man can never do it all. With support, I believe he can deliver for us but we have to do everything very fast as our problem is we always wait till the last minute before we say we doing this or that. We have to start from now, although our competition is next year, we have to start preparing everything from now. With the help of everyone I believe we can turn things around.

Chris Hughton played an advisory role to Otto Addo who resigned from the helm of the Black Stars technical team after the side’s group stage exit from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Many possible candidates have been rumored by various outlets, but the Former Brighton and Hove Albion manager seems favorite for the job.
