The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially amended its statutes to allow future presidents to serve up to three terms in office, extending the current limit from two.

The decision was reached at the 31st Ordinary Congress held on Tuesday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, where delegates overwhelmingly voted in favour of the amendment by 114 votes to 10.

With this change, any GFA president can now remain in office for a maximum of 12 years, serving three four-year terms.

In another major reform, Congress also approved a second constitutional amendment elevating the Women’s Football Representative on the GFA Executive Council to the role of Second Vice-President — a move aimed at strengthening gender inclusion in football leadership.
