Head Coach of the Super Eagles B team, Daniel Ogunmudede says he is satisfied with the draw in the first leg of the African Nations Championship qualifier against Ghana.
At the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, Nigeria and Ghana played to a goalless draw, with the visiting team squandering several goalscoring opportunities.
In a post-match interview, Ogunmudede acknowledged that it was a tough challenge going into the game, but they were just lucky on the day.
“Before we came here, we knew what we were coming to face in a team like Ghana considering the rivalry between the two countries. We knew how tough it would be whenever we meet on the stage so we expected a very tough battle…we are lucky and satisfied with the result we came out with,” he said after the match.
The second leg takes place in Nigeria on December 28 with the winner set to qualify for 2025 CHAN that will be cohosted in Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania. Nigeria will count on home support at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
