GPL 24/25 MWK 2 : Hearts of Oak remain winless, Vision FC record first ever win

In the match-day 2 of the 24/25 Ghana premier league, Hearts of Oak suffered their second consecutive defeat , losing 2-0 to Heart of Lions on Sunday. The Phobians are now at the bottom of the table with zero points from two matches.
Despite the struggles, Assistant Coach Nana Yaw Amankwa is determined to get the team back on track. Heart of Lions’ coach Bashiru Hayford acknowledged that the win was hard-fought.

Meanwhile, Young Apostles FC drew 0-0 with Nations FC in their first Premier League match at home.

Berekum Chelsea secured their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Karela United, thanks to Mezack Afriyie’s goal.

Basake Holy Stars and Dreams FC also drew 0-0, while Bechem United and Aduana FC shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Medeama SC took the top spot in the league table with a 1-0 win over Legon Cities FC, courtesy of Kamaradini Mamudu’s first-half goal at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Vision FC recorded their first ever victory in the Premier League after a 2-0 win at Accra Lions FC to conclude matchweek-2 of the Ghanaian top-flight on Monday September 16, 2024.

A goal in each half propelled the ‘Eewo’ lads to their first win in their debut campaign in the domestic elite division.

POSTPONED GAMES

FC Samartex 1996’s home game against GoldStars FC at the Nsenkyire Arena has been deferred to their involvement in the CAF Champions League where they drew 2 2 with Raja Casablanca in the final preliminary eliminator at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Nsoatreman FC were also not involved this weekend after losing 2-0 to Algerian outfit FC Constantine in the first leg of their second preliminary match of the 2024-25 CAF TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup. They were scheduled to battle Asante Kotoko.
