The ceremony, held on August 17, 2024, was attended by Professor Rosina Kyeremanteng, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Sampson Appiah, Senior Hall Tutor, and Dr. James Bawoyerim, Hall Administrator.

In his welcome address, JCR President Osei Tutu Nyamekese Junior emphasized the importance of the facilities in enhancing residents’ academic journey and overall student experience.
“We recognized the need for a conducive environment that fosters learning and relaxation. The reading rooms are designed to provide a quiet and comfortable space for residents to study, while the TV room will serve as a hub for socialization and entertainment. We believe that these facilities will greatly enhance the overall student experience at Elizabeth Sey Hall.”

Professor Rosina Kyeremanteng, in her address, commended the outgoing JCR executives for their initiative and vision.
“I am impressed by the leadership and commitment shown by the JCR executives. It’s not often that we see student leaders utilize resources for productive ventures, rather than squandering them. This is a testament to the fact that students can make a positive impact when given the opportunity. I urge the incoming executives to build on this legacy and continue to work towards improving the lives of residents.”

Dr. Sampson Appiah, Senior Hall Tutor, also praised the executives, emphasizing the importance of maintenance culture.
“I commend the JCR executives for their hard work and dedication. However, I must emphasize that the longevity of these facilities depends on our collective effort to maintain them. I urge residents to take ownership of these facilities and report any damages or issues promptly. Let us work together to ensure that these facilities continue to serve us well.”

Dr. James Bawoyerim, Hall Administrator, expressed his gratitude to the JCR executives for their collaboration and teamwork. “I want to thank the JCR executives for their cooperation and commitment to improving the hall.
