Performance of Ghanaian players in the 2023/24 English Premier League Season

Manchester City have been crowned champions of the English Premier League for the 4th consecutive time. Pep Guardiola and his men beat West Ham United in the final league game of the 2023/24 Season to clinch their 10th Premier League title in history.

In this article, we delve into the performance of Ghanaian players during the 2023-24 English Premier League season.

Thomas Partey – Arsenal

The Ghanaian defensive midfielder did not have an incredible season due to major injury setbacks. Thomas only played 14 Premier League games for Arsenal this season with 0 goals and 0 assists. Despite this, Partey played a pivotal role in guiding the Gunners to a commendable second-place finish, narrowly missing out on the trophy by just two points behind leaders Manchester City.


Mohammed Kudus – West Ham United

Kudus joined the Hammers from Ajax at the start of the 2023/24 season. Quickly becoming a fan favorite, the Ghanaian showcased remarkable skill on the field. In his debut Premier League season, Kudus played 33 games, scoring 8 goals and providing 6 assists. His contributions were instrumental in West Ham’s 9th-place finish. Additionally, he clinched the team’s goal of the season award with a stunning strike against Freiburg in the Europa League.

Jeffery Schlupp – Crystal Palace

The Ghanaian forward played 29 games for Palace throughout the 2023/24 Premier League Season. The 29-year-old attacker scored 2 goals and made 2 assists as his side finished 10th on the table with 49 points after 38 games played.

Jordan Ayew – Crystal Palace

Ayew featured in 35 out of the 38 English Premier League matches this season, marking his most impressive performance for Palace to date. Matching his 11-goal tally from the 2019/20 season, the Ghanaian scored 4 goals and provided 7 assists, playing a pivotal role in his club’s 10th-placed finish in the league.

Tariq Lamptey – Brighton and Hove Albion

The defender has not had so much playing time this season due to injury. The Ghanaian only played 19 games for his club as he scored no goals but recorded 3 assists this season. Lamptey managed to help his team place 11th on the league table with 48 points after 38 games.

Antoine Semenyo – Bournemouth

This season will go down as one of the best in the career of Antoine Semenyo. The Ghanaian played 33 games for Bournemouth as he was involved in 10 goal contributions for the club, scoring 8 times and assisting twice. His club finished 12th on the 20-club English Premier League table with 48 points.
