The long-awaited University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council (UGSRC) Week Celebration got off to a blazing start on Sunday, August 10, 2025, with an electrifying, spirit-filled Gospel Rock Show at the Diaspora Desert.
The night opened with the PENSA-Legon Choir, whose medley of gospel classics set a powerful tone and drew the audience into a deep session of worship and praise.
As the evening unfolded, the atmosphere intensified with energetic worship sessions and live performances from some of Ghana’s finest gospel acts. The highlight came when the legendary gospel trio Daughters of Glorious Jesus took the stage, their timeless hits prompting the crowd to sing and dance in unison.
Even an unexpected power outage during their set couldn’t dampen the spirit of the night. In fact, it seemed to ignite an even deeper sense of unity, as both the audience and performers pressed on with unwavering passion, transforming the show into a moving spiritual encounter.
Student Reactions
Speaking to Univers Entertainment after the show, many students described the event as uplifting and unforgettable.
“I really enjoyed it. When they came on, the crowd went wild. I’ve listened to their music for years but never seen them live—only on TV and radio. Kofi Owusu Peprah also gave a great performance. I missed that man,” one attendee shared.
Another student reflected on the night’s challenges:
“I didn’t get to see some of the gospel musicians who were on the flyer. We had issues with the lights going off, and at a point, we just had to start praying. But honestly, the energy from the students was amazing. Everyone was truly blessed.”
