The father of Beyonce and manager of Destiny Child, Dr. Matthew Knowles, has highlighted how important it is for young entrepreneurs to invest in training themselves.

Speaking at ‘To The Top’ seminar, produced by the organizers of the Eat, Drink, and Music festival, which was dubbed ‘Unlocking entrepreneurial excellence is a guiding star for those who believe in the transformative powers of entrepreneurial endeavors’, Dr. Matthew Knowles advised that, as a young entrepreneur, training oneself is instrumental in achieving one’s goal, especially in the business world.

He added that young entrepreneurs can access free online lessons on Google and YouTube to increase their knowledge of whatever field of interest they have.

“In every class I teach, I always say there’s another professor in the room that is Professor Google. Most things you want to know, you can just Google it. There is a lot of knowledge that comes with entrepreneurship, as you would have to answer questions like, What is a cash flow analysis? What is PSL? These are the things that are important to know if you are going to be an entrepreneur, so try not to be your own boss and learn from these online platforms.”

In addition, he shared his entrepreneurial wisdom on how passion is the only thing that will energize a person in the moments when they feel like giving up on their goals.

“Passion energizes you because, for instance, the passion I have pushes me to motivate and educate young minds like you. When you live your passion, no matter what it is you will never work a day in your life where you will be disappointed in the work you do. It is the thing that does not only make you dream but makes you dream big, so I want each and every one of you to dream big.”

The Eat, Drink, Music Festival is an event that endeavors to generate resources for supporting entrepreneurs within the creative sector in Ghana. Additionally, the festival aims to forge fresh business prospects for diverse creatives while equipping them with vital entrepreneurial expertise to expand their businesses.
