Electronic Money Issuers (EMIs) across the country have been directed to collaborate with agents to connect their accounts with either the Ghana Card or Tax Identification Number (TIN) by the end of business on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

In a notice issued by the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications dated January 30, 2024, it was stated that failure to adhere to the directive will lead to the suspension of their SIM cards by close of January 31st, 2024.

This resolution follows extensive consultations with the leadership of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), as outlined in the official statement from the chamber.

The chamber stressed that pertinent details regarding the process have been directly communicated to affected agents through various channels ahead of the deadline.

A final call was also issued to agents, urging them to regularize their operations by linking their accounts with their Ghana Cards or TIN.

For agents facing account suspension on February 1, 2024, the directive is to visit any of the operator outlets with their Ghana Card or TIN to complete the necessary linking process.

The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications finally affirmed its dedication to delivering convenient, secure, and accessible financial services to all Ghanaians in the statement.
