Ghana’s medal hopeful and National Long Jump Record holder Deborah Acquah will not be in the final of the Women’s long jump event after she failed to make the qualifying mark (6.80q) in Budapest.

Acquah’s leap of 6.50m saw her trail compatriots Ivana Vuleta (6.82q) and Ackeila Smith (6.78q) who lead group B in an interesting qualifying round.

Acquah was bronze medalist at the Commonwealth games in Birmingham last year, and qualified for this year’s IAAF world championship following a wonder leap of 6.94m

Ghana will be banging her hopes on the likes of James Dadzie and the Men’s 4×100m relay team in a quest to see the podium and bring home a medal.
