David Adanu, the Human Resource Manager at Telecel Ghana, believes that winning the University of Ghana Corporate Football League will significantly enhance employee morale at Telecel, motivating them to better serve the nation.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Mr. Adanu mentioned that they have a highly collaborative and innovative team capable of causing an upset on any given day.
I can say that you’re going to see a very dynamic, energetic, young team that’s going to ensure that we have this trophy. If we make winners after this 20-week-long league, it will boost employee morale so that we can win in the market. The team is agile. They get different things done at the same time. The team is very collaborative. Lastly, what marks us out as a business and a company is innovation. Look at all these wonderful products you see on the market. That is what we are bringing to this league” – he told Ug Games Official.
Additionally, Mr. Adanu issued a stern warning to competing teams, positioning Telecel Ghana as the underdog, or “David,” of the league, implying they’re ready to take on the giants.
“I’ve heard one or two names. I hear NPA. They think we’re about to sell fuel. Then we have Union Ghana. Then there is Forestry Commission. We are not going to the forest this time. Then, Ghana Army. Ghana Army, I should be careful, but you Ghana Army, we are coming for you. Ghana Army, we will deal with you. So, Telecel is coming and we are coming for this trophy. We are the “David” of this league. Ghana Army can be the “Goliaths”, the former winners. We don’t know who they are, but we are going to definitely emerge as champions”. – he concluded.
