WAFCON 24: Black Queens head coach Nora Häuptle names squad for Rwanda Clash

Black Queens head coach,Nora Häuptle has revealed Ghana’s squad list for the upcoming first round of the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Qualifiers against Rwanda.

The black queens are set to face Rwanda in a first round two-legged tie for a place in the second round of the 2024 Women’s African Cup of nations in Morocco.

The first leg of the tie is scheduled for September 20 in Kigali at the Stade Régional Nyamiramb with the return encounter to be played in Accra on September 26 at the Accra Sports stadium.

The winner of the first round of the qualifiers will take on either Namibia or Gambia in the next phase of the qualifying series.

Nora Häuptle has called upon the following women to help boost Ghana’s chances of sealing Qualification to the WAFCON for the first time since the 2018 edition;

Amponsah Mary

The others include Boaduwaa Doris, Boakye Portia, Bugre Azumah, Cudjoe Jennifer, Egyir Janet, Eshun Linda, Konlan F. Cynthia, Kusi Alice, McCarthy Kerrie, Nyamekye Stella, Salifu Safiatu and Tweneboaa Justice.

The Black Queens run riot in their last outing against Guinea in the first phase of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which adds to the recent resurgence in performance under the Swiss Coach.

The Black Queens have been consistently delivering exceptional performances since the appointment of the Swiss coach in January with perfect first 5 games, with a scoring of 14 goals and conceding none.

The Black Queens will be hoping to keep the run going when they enplane to Kigali.
