Major League Soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy has announced Ghanaian international Joseph Paintsil as a member of their team in anticipation of the upcoming MLS season.

In 2017, the talented 26-year-old Ghanaian began his football journey with Tema Youth in Ghana, showcasing his skills with 10 goals in 22 games.

He then embarked on a loan move to Ferencváros in Hungary, where his remarkable performance yielded 10 goals in 25 games. Transitioning to Belgium’s Genk in 2018, he has remained a pivotal player despite loan spells elsewhere.

Notably, in the 2022/23 season, he shone brightly with Genk, tallying 17 goals and 12 assists in 36 league appearances, marking a significant milestone in his career.

LA Galaxy made headlines on February 21, 2024, with the unveiling of their latest acquisition from Ghana, securing the player for a reported $9 million over a four-year period.

Manager Will Kuntz expressed confidence in the Ghanaian’s ability to become a cornerstone in their pursuit of additional trophies

Joseph has been a key member of one of the best clubs in Belgium’s top flight and one of Africa’s most prominent national teams over the past few years and we are thrilled to announce that he is joining the LA Galaxy.

We are looking forward to adding such a dynamic attacker in the prime of his career to our group and for him to be a key figure in our pursuit of our next trophies.

Head coach Greg Vanney said also acknowledged the potentials of the Ghanaian International.

Joseph is a dynamic winger with and without the ball who possesses the capacity to change games instantly. We look forward to integrating him into our group quickly.

Paintsil is expected to begin training with his new team immediately as they prepare for the upcoming Major League Soccer Season.
