The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Law School has held its 3rd Honorific Lecture and Awards Night to celebrate legal luminary, Tsatsu Tsikata, for what it described as his immense contribution to legal practice in Ghana.
The event was held at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium on the University’s premises on April 15, 2026, and brought together high-ranking officials and Justices of the courts.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Professor John Mawutor, stated that it was an honour for the institution to celebrate a distinguished legal mind who has positively shaped national discourse and contributed to good governance in Ghana.
“It is a privilege and honour for us, as UPSA Management, to recognise the remarkable achievements of a legal luminary like Tsatsu Tsikata and his dedicated service to Ghana over several years. Such commitment to excellence and public service is rare, and this special occasion seeks to immortalise his work for succeeding generations to build upon for the betterment of our homeland,” he said.
The honouree, Tsatsu Tsikata, also expressed gratitude to his family for guiding him to become an accomplished scholar and legal practitioner from an early age, culminating in a distinguished career spanning over five decades.
“I am truly grateful to my family and loved ones for a day like this and for this recognition by a world-class institution like UPSA… The dedication and steadfastness of my family, as well as the influence of astute teachers during my formative years, have culminated in a fulfilling career as a legal practitioner who has served my country wholeheartedly,” he stated.
The well-attended event drew dignitaries including the Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe Bonnie, and the Vice-President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
