The University of Ghana Student Representative Council (UGSRC) , has secured an amount of GHC54,000 from Prudential Bank to commence the first phase of the E-Discussion Rooms project which is part of their proposed projects outlined as development structures.

Treasurer of the UGSRC Awudu Suleman was speaking to Univers News, where he explained that the project is to aid students in group work, projects, and academic thesis that demands them to share information one-on-one.

Awudu Suleman also mentioned that the project was to take effect from the University of Ghana Enterprise Limited Halls (UGEL), also known as ‘Diaspora’ and subsequently to other halls of residence on campus.

“This is the first phase of the project, and I know that development is gradual, so we can’t rush all the projects at a go. We believe that starting with the first five [UGEL] halls, it will give us more directions through the other four [traditional] halls.”

He admonished students to support the SRC with all they can because the SRC body is doing it’s best to construct developmental projects for the benefit of the student body at large adding that they should be intentional in catering for these infrastructure if they are put in place.

“We’ve been looking at a lot of developments; This is just the start, the administration is still young. There’s a lot to be done and there’s a lot we’re yet to do. We would be glad if all students were behind us and give us the support we need. And appreciating our efforts will motivate us to do more.”
