The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana has held its handing-over ceremony.
The event took place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Jean Nelson Aka Hall Conference Room.
During the ceremony, the outgoing SRC executives officially transferred their responsibilities to the newly elected team, marking the end of the Guru-Jaylit administration and the beginning of the Larbi-Gyampo leadership.
Outgoing Vice President, Jeffery Adu Yeboah, reflected on what he described as the true meaning of leadership.
“Leadership is about building monuments in the hearts of people. Leadership is about setting the pace and ensuring that those who follow will see the light at the end of the day,” he said.
Larbi Ofori Richmond, the newly elected SRC President, expressed his commitment to serve students diligently, while emphasizing the importance of collective effort and support.
“We are confident that together, with unity and determination, we can overcome obstacles and create a campus environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered. I call on every student to join us. Your ideas, energy, and participation are crucial to the success of our initiatives. Let us build bridges, not walls,” he urged.
He also extended his gratitude to the university community for their support and trust in the Larbi-Gyampo team to lead the SRC.
“Once again, thank you for the incredible opportunity to serve and for the unprecedented trust you have given us,” he added.
The new executives further pledged to run an inclusive and transparent administration that prioritizes student welfare.
“In our relentless pursuit of positive change, we pledge to lead with transparency, inclusivity, and accountability. Our administration will listen first, act decisively, and always place the welfare of students at the forefront,” they affirmed.
