The University of Ghana Student Representative Council (UGSRC) runoff elections are set to take place tomorrow, September 27, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This follows the postponement of the initial elections due to “unforeseen circumstances beyond control,” as stated by the Interim Electoral Commission.

The runoff is being held because none of the candidates secured the required 50+1% of the votes. It will feature competitive races for the positions of General Secretary and Treasurer.

In the General Secretary race, candidates Lorinda Owie and Deborah Damoah will vie for the position, while Kankam Jonathan and Roland Oppong will compete for the Treasurer role.

The outcome of these elections will determine who becomes the next Treasurer and General Secretary to complete the 67th UGSRC administration. Therefore, all students are advised to come out in their numbers and vote.
