Students at the University of Ghana have started receiving voting links ahead of tomorrow’s Students Representative Council elections.
The links are being sent by the University of Ghana Computing Systems to the mails of students.
The Public Relations Officer of the SRC Electoral Commission, Bright Siaw stated that the Commission is ready to conduct the elections tomorrow.
“We are ready to conduct the elections. With the issue of voting links, by now we’ve sorted it out,” he said.
He further stated that the Commission will however proceed with its help desk to aid any student still having challenges with the voting processes.
“So far candidates have confirmed that they’ve received their links. But the commission will still proceed with the help desk,” he added.
The Electoral Commission earlier announced that the 2022 SRC elections will come off on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 after it was held and cancelled on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
This was due to, among other challenges, the inability of a large number of students to receive their voting links on time.
The elections were held online with assistance from the University of Ghana Computing Systems.
A statement signed by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Daniel Kwasi Dzrekey, indicated that arrangements had been put in place to ensure that the elections were held successfully this time.
