The VC of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo to lead curtain raiser at the maiden edition of UG Corporate Tennis Championship

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, will take to the court for a curtain raiser match to officially open the University of Ghana Corporate Tennis Championship on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the University of Ghana Tennis Court.

The friendly exhibition game, which kicks off at 9 a.m., at the University of Ghana tennis court will set a lively tone for a day filled with energy, camaraderie, and top-quality corporate tennis.

This year’s championship has attracted participation from four of Ghana’s leading institutions and companies, including the Volta River Authority (VRA), Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Stanbic Bank PLC, and GOIL PLC.

Each team is expected to bring its best players and plenty of enthusiasm for an exciting day of competition.

The tournament is proudly supported by GOIL, Penfield School, Ghana Tennis Federation, and Verna Water.

Organised by the University of Ghana Sports and Wellness Directorate in partnership with RITE Sports Services, the Corporate Tennis Championship goes beyond competition — it is a celebration of teamwork, fitness, and community connection, reflecting the University’s vision of nurturing well-rounded excellence both on and off the court.
